The investigation of the cyclohexane fraction of the roots of Pachystela msolo led to the isolation of pachysteloside A [1], a new cerebroside, along with five known compounds identified as taraxeryl acetate [2], β-taraxerol [3], spinasterol [4], betulinic acid [5], and spinasterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside [6]. The structure of the cerebroside was determined by comprehensive analysis of 1D and 2D NMR, EIMS, ESIMS, and HRESI-TOF spectra data.
Keywords: Sapotaceae, Pachystela msolo, cerebroside.
