The present study is aimed to evaluate the anti-arthritic activity of ethanolic extract of Momordica charantia leaves (EEML) by two in-vitro models i.e. human red blood cell (HRBC) membrane stabilization and inhibition of protein denaturation. The standard drug was diclofenac sodium. The results of both models showed concentration dependent inhibition of protein (egg albumin) denaturation as well as stabilization towards HRBC membrane. On the basis of present findings, it can be concluded that EEML showed anti-arthritic activity due to presence of phytocompounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins etc.
