Full Time: The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £32,375 – £39,132 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary research group working with the Department of Chemistry and the Division of Medicine to design, develop and evaluate novel radiotracers for imaging with Positron Emission Tomography (PET). The project will involve development of new methodology for aromatic fluorination, and will require synthesis of model compounds, optimizing conditions for fluorination, and extension of the chemistry for applications to PET tracers. Facilities for synthetic chemistry and radiochemistry will be provided within the Department of Chemistry at UCL. The candidate will be expected to work in close collaboration with the current team members in the radiochemistry group as well as our collaborators.
This post is funded for one year in the first instance.
A PhD in a relevant subject area is essential as is expert knowledge and excellent practical skills in organic chemistry. Experience with radiochemistry and HPLC would be desirable, as is experience with and commitment to working at the chemistry/biology interface.
