A simple, accurate, and precise spectrophotometric method was developed for the simultaneous estimation of moxifloxacin hydrochloride (MOX) and imatinib mesylate (IMA). MOX and IMA solution were simultaneously determined at their respective λmax. The absorbance λmax of MOX and IMA were 295nm and 256nm, respectively. Absorbance spectrum of MOX and IMA were found to be good in water with comparison to methanol, 0.1M HCl and 0.1M NaOH. Linearity was obtained over the range 0.2 – 20.0μg/mL and 1-40 μg/mL with lower limit of quantitation of 0.25 μg/mL and 1.4 μg/mL for MOX and IMA, respectively. For each level of samples, inter- and intra-day precision (% RSD) was <2.5% and <1.5%for MOX and < 1.4 and <2.1 % for IMA, respectively. The mean recovery of both drugs was in the range 97%-98 %. The results obtained were well within the acceptance criteria. The method can be used for routine analysis of MOX and IMA.
